The Café is a restaurant & bakery in Ames, Iowa that features locally sourced food. They are hugely invested in their local community at every step and as a result have become a staple to residents in Ames, Iowa as well as the surrounding areas.
PROCESS
The Café was in a position to update their menus and branding while still being true to the identity that the customer base has come to know and love. I was able to take their signature mark and illustration, and craft a stamp that could be applied in various ways. Part of the charm of The Café is the changing of the menus. This seasonal change takes place every 3-4 months, peaking community interest. In this change I create the seasonal menus including the drink menu, feature menu, gluten free, breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Every new menu design highlights the season, the handcrafted nature of the work and local Iowa values.
